HomeWorks 20th Anniversary

Testamonial Video

I created a 20th anniversary video for HomeWorks Premium Thrift. I found out about three days before the event that they wanted a video to be done, so that was fun. There was a lot of footage from the interviews I had to listen to and export the valuable information. I captured this in portrait knowing that it would be shared on social media.

I had fun making this and explored some new features. There is a big grandfather clock that was playing in the background during one of my interviews, and I was able to remove it! â€‹â€‹

Some difficulties that I had were that since this was taken on my iPhone and then edited in Premiere Pro, I had some exporting issues. A lot of my content came out overexposed for some reason, and the color grading seems off. I also wished I had some more time when creating this because I would like to explore more new features like how to remove the "umm" and long pauses not manually.

I have a lot more footage and would enjoy making more videos like this.

Short Videos

Reels

It is very uncommon for any video online to be more then a couple seconds long. Creating short videos became the new norm and pretty much the go to option when promoting online. I have created a few videos to be shared on social media at HomeWorks Premium Thrift.

I enjoy creating these quick snippets of the store and I hope it encourages viewers to come in and check out the store.

Traveling Tips

Travel Vlog

For my Senior Seminar in at Albright College I decided to go through my GroPro videos that I've taken in 2018 from Amsterdam, Switzerland, and Austria to create a promo travel vlog video. I created a logo to be used in the beginning and end of each video. This logo has J and K for Joshua and Kierstin along with an airplane for travel.

I would like to continue this travel vlog with my friend Joshua once we are able to travel. I always loved capturing photos of us traveling but videos are also fun to edit.

Documentary

For my Senior Seminar in Film at Albright College, I decided to create a documentary of my senior year lacrosse season. I thought I could make a fun video of with all my teammates documenting my last season of lacrosse which was my fourth and final year. However, that wasn't the case. Covid-19 ended my senior lacrosse season at Albright College early. It was an extremely upsetting time for myself and to create this documentary.

I will try to summarize my years as being a student athlete in just a few sentences. I only played two years of lacrosse before trying out on a D3 College Lacrosse Team. I was just a walk-on in the fall of 2016 at Albright College and for the spring tryouts my coach cut me my freshman year. I did get the opportunity to become the first manager for the Albright Women's Lacrosse Team and still continued to be a part of the team. My sophomore year I made it on the team and cheered my teammates on from the sideline. My junior year I continued to work hard and practice to get more and more field time to finally my senior year I was starting. I worked so hard to get to that point for it to slip away. So creating this video was a challenge.

This was probably one of the hardest videos to edit and put together. For something I excepted to be happy and so promising turned dark and sad. I believe I could have done better with this video and to be honest I put this video together two days before it was due. I still have difficulty watching it. I kept the documentary raw so there is some explicit words in the video. I’d like thank everyone who made my senior year as good as it could get during these tough times.

Voice Over

In my Video II class at Albright College I created a voice-over. A voice-over

film titled “Suspense” using Adobe Premiere Pro. The projects guidelines was to create any story line we like with using a voice over the video. Recording this film I use only one camera so many of the angles and shots were done a few times. I was the producer, editor, star, script, created storyboards, found the cast, used several different locations, filmed, did the post-production and presentation.

I used serval locations around campus including the dorms, indoor track field, basketball court, and turf field.

take clips around 30 seconds of different film shots including panning, stills, and your choice. We then imported the clips into a shared file that everyone in the class could access. From there we took different videos from classmates and create our own visual experience. We could make the video as long or as short as we wanted as long as we used several different videos from classmates.

In my video I compiled several videos to make it suspenseful. I did sharp cuts and added a filter to all the videos to make them balance. This was one of my favorite projects because it was fun to see what my other classmates did and how they would alter the original film to make it coherent.

Horror/Comedy

In my Video II class at Albright College I completed a horror movie using Adobe Premiere Pro. I would say this film is more a comedy rather than a horror movie. I created this film with some of my friends and a carboard cutout of Tina Belcher. I used a Sony video camera to record the film. I also utilized a tripod to create steady panning shots and create the scene of Tina hiding from different trees to flow.

I had a lot of fun editing this video in Adobe Premiere Pro. I created a storyboard of the different cuts I wanted to capture including establishing shot, panning shots, and close ups. I used a vast variety of interesting sound effects some self-created and the rest from soundbible. Thankful for all the teamwork I had in making the film.

Riley

Video Portrait

In my Video I class at Albright College I completed a video portrait about my dog Riley. I wrote the questions ahead of time to ask my mother and sister for the film. I also used b-roll with videos of Riley's photo album when she was a puppy and other clips of examples we were talking about like her on a walk, playing outside, and welcoming mom home.

This is one of the first videos I made using Adobe Premiere Pro. I used the music in the film from SoundCloud. It is a cute profile about my dog that I can cherish forever.
